E. Cooperatives
A cooperative offers a different possibility to all those individuals with entrepreneurship skills. An example of a cooperative is the possibility of creating handmade products aimed in particular to the tourist industry or the production of healthy take-away food for the Maltese families.
All those prepared to work together and pool their resources in order to form a business enterprise and offer products and/or services can form a Co-operative. This group has to be made up of at least five (5) persons. Before starting to function, the group needs to know what is a co-operative, prepare a feasibility study, adopt the seven basic principles of co-operativism and undertake market research so to understand the potential and demands on their product or service. Brainstorming sessions prior to taking a final decision of whether or not to form a Co-operative are crucial.
