Objectives

The general objectives of this transnational project is to identify methods that allow the removal of real and perceived barriers of marginalized and/or weak groups, particularly women, by promoting equal opportunities for disadvantaged women entering the labour market.

The trans-national partners involved in project EMPOWER include:

• Italy: www.whatwomenwant.net
• Spain: DUAL   
• Northern Ireland: Possibilities  
• Lithuania: Integration of Socially Vulnerable Women of Vilnius County
• Malta: Promoting Equal Opportunities Through Empowerment 

The partners have identified in their geographical areas target groups with similar problems to access the labour market. Low educational attainment, gender gaps, lack of motivation and long term unemployed are common to the beneficiaries of the projects in each country (disadvantaged women, lone parents, women with low qualifications, women working in the black economy).

This background makes that the common aim of all the partners is to identify methods which allow the removal of real and perceived barriers to those marginalized and/or weak groups. The achievement of this objective will be possible by increasing educational and cultural awareness across the transnational partners.

As part of this trans-national partnership the transnational activites include:

•  Transnational Meetings and seminars
• Transnational E-newsletters
• Transnational Website
•  Transantional Toolkit and CD Rom

The results of each national project will be transferred between trans-national partners.
